Wearing Leopard–Just Add Something Simple

Wearing leopard is nothing new for me. I’ve got leopard socks, shoes, shorts, skirts, dresses, tee shirts, blouses, sweaters, scarves, belts and even a leopard jean jacket and blazer. I’ve got leopard in color too like red for example. I’ve got pieces of leopard collected from way back to just this season. Wearing leopard has never been something I’ve ever shied away from; rather I embrace it and have even been awarded the nickname AnnieMal for all the leopard I wear via my brother-in-law.

While for me leopard is a neutral, for others it can be a bit too bold, a bit too gauche. Wearing leopard might cause a bit of unease for some. That’s why this month for my Wednesday series I’ll be wearing leopard in the most casual of ways. I will try to undermine this very ostentatious print; I will attempt to calm it down, so to speak, be a subdued Anniemal if there is such a thing!

This outfit is very simple–just a black shift with some leopard accessories. I’ve got the leopard sneakers, a leopard fanny pack, and a leopard scrunchie. If this is too much leopard, the sneakers would suffice. The scrunchie was added because, hey! My hair fits in a pony tail!! The fanny pack is an extra touch just because I love both leopard and this useful type of bag. Even my earrings are a nod to leopard; although they’re actually tortoise shell. Basically, pairing just a touch of leopard with black is the most minimal way to incorporate this fall trend.

It’s so odd to have something I’ve always loved, leopard, to be all over the place. The same goes for sneakers. It’s as if two things that have been my style claims can now belong to everyone. I rather liked it when pairing leopard or even wearing leopard head to toe was my thing. I’m not sure about everyone else doing this too. That’s silly though: to each their own, and leopard is so glorious. It’s nice for others to enjoy this print as well.

Now, let me link up some of my past leopard looks (there are 18 PAGES of leopard to choose from!) before I continue wearing leopard during the month of November on Wednesdays:

1) Head to toe leopard
2) Very colorful leopard
3) Cozy leopard on my leopard sofa
4) More cozy leopard paired with a whimsical skirt
5) A leopard sweater with shorts
6) Leopard joggers and a tee
7) A purple leopard jumpsuit
8) Simple again with leopard sandals and crossbody bag
9) Over-the-top bold in leopard
10) Leopard faux fur in a winter wonderland

What about you? How are you wearing leopard?
