Christmas Plaid on Plaid

Like a lot of people, I especially appreciate the styling of J.Crew. It seems for the last three years, they’ve been pairing Christmas plaid on plaid. Well, I finally decided to give it a go. My mind went through so many thoughts. Here the are in sequential order:

1. The family was shopping at the mall when I spotted these red Christmas plaid pants in the window. I knew the moment I saw those pants I had to have them. After coffees at Starbucks I split to HM. And yes! They had my size. I didn’t think twice and bought these pants.

2. The outfit is on and hmmmm, this is a bit much. No one in the family wants to be seen with me. I guess I’m not really a J.Crew model. I look kinda silly.

3. Oh this is going to look great. These HM plaid pants with my J.Crew christmas plaid shirt. Perfection. Throw in the penny loafers. I’m set for J.Crew.

4. Doesn’t matter. I’m going to shoot this look. Gigi can meet me at the green wall.

5. I’m taking pictures and I’m working it. Gigi can get me to smile just the way I need to regardless if I look silly or not.

6. Gigi and I are in the elevator together. “Mommy, I like this outfit.” Really! Say what?

7. Hmm, maybe it just taking some getting used to….

What do you think? Can I get away with Christmas plaid on plaid?

  1. Gigi is such a gem!
You CAN set the bar for “puttin on the plaid”!! I’m amazed at how much I like this combination and you’ve really inspired me to find some Christmas plaid of my very own.
Funny, what gives a plaid that holiday designation?? Are the only qualifiers a heavy dose of red and green? I have lots of plaid in the form of flannel but none of it fits the bill…yet. 🙂

    1. Yes, my little (well not so little anymore!) Gigi is a true gem!! I love her dearly.

I know it is funny that it somehow works. At first it felt so bold and loud, but by the time we walked to the green wall and back, I was feeling pretty comfortable.

You must get some Christmas plaid. It’s so fun to wear right now!

      A x

  2. Awww, thanks Tracy! You are so kind!! It makes me feel good that you have a sense of my personality all through my words and pictures without ever meeting me. That’s kind of cool I think.

    Thank you! Love, Ann

  3. well, as a huge fan of plaid, I can’t be impartial: I think that you Totally Rock and I love this outfit!, and love your sunnies, and your fabulous attitude!

A girl can’t wear too much plaid, as I’m concerned.

    besos
