VDL Lippy Giveaway

VDLLippy

If you follow along on Kremb de la Kremb, you very well know what I fan I am of anything lippy: I love lipstick! Whether it’s a bright red or orange lip or even just a subtle one, I am a fan of painting my lips. I always have been. I often feel bare without something on my lips.

This week I want to hear from you–what’s your best lip story? Are you a lipstick lady? Gloss? Or are you a lip balm girl? Karmex your thing? Write me (either here on the blog, by email, Facebook, Twitter, hey even in person) about your favorite lip product, and you could win a lip product from VDL!

VDL is an amazing Korean cosmetic company that now has a shop here in Hong Kong. I went to their opening and fell in love with all the products but especially with all the ones they have for lips. Now, when you tell me your lippy story, you will have a chance to win something. Again, contact me in any which way your prefer. That’s no matter. What I do want to know is what you crave for your lippy!

*Three winners, one product each. Closed on Sunday, April 20. Winner announced on Monday, April 21. Product will be mailed anywhere in the world–if it can be shipped to from Hong Kong!

  1. I love your blog! I grew up with Mary and found your blog through her. (: I love a great lipstick too – I have to stick with one with a blue undertone and so I LOVE MAC Rebel mixed with MAC Up the Amp with MAC Oversexed lip glass as the final layer. It’s the PERFECT berry shade!

    1. Yay Christy! Thanks for responding. I usually need the blue undertone too, but I am sooooo in to the orange lip this spring that I’m just going for it. Are you? I love MAC Rebel, and I’ve been hearing about Up the Amp, so I want to check that color out. I love the name of Oversexed! Will look at that one too. Thank you for the combo. Nice to know of another Lipstick Lady out there! A x PS Mary is the greatest!

  2. Hi Christy and Ann!!
So happy to be connected to you lipstick lovers and fabulous ladies!
I am the opposite, I cannot have a blue undertone because of the redness in my skin so does that mean I can do orange? My favorite lippy is actually comes from my Shea Butter tin from Loccitane. I apply it all the time prior to any lip color and sometimes it doubles as my night time eye cream or calf highlighter ;). Is the Mac rebel the one with the sparkles in it? I’ve gotta try oversexed you suggested-I love anything Mac lip. My latest purchase from them is “please me” a soft pink that requires a gloss over it for sure.

    1. Mary, I love all the ways you use your shea butter. It’s nice having a go-to product for everything. I need to pick some up some time so I too can become an addict;D Can’t wait to see you MarMar!! Annie

  3. Loving this fun conversation on a Monday morning!! Hi Mary!! So fun. Ann, I haven’t tried an orange lip because everything tends to turn orange on me but maybe I just need to embrace it and give it a shot! I saw your post a little while back with all your suggestions so at least I have a good place to start. It looked great on you! (: Mare, Rebel doesn’t have any sparkles – it’s one of their satin lipsticks and Up the Amp is from their Amplified line (pretty moisturizing too). Oversexed is a gloss and has a touch of sparkle – it’s been my go to for years. Thanks for the tips ladies!!

    1. Yes, Christy, give an orange a try–especially with a bit of a tan. You may be surprised. (If you don’t go in the sun, try it after a touch of a Tan Towel;) Mary, you will love Rebel! It’s the best dark berry purple pink ever. Christy, for something kind of close but not as dark, go try Funny Face by NARS–another really good one. Christy, it’d be so fun to meet you. Mary, can you arrange that this summer. I’m excited to know you like my blog:D A x

      1. Yes, Anne – we will have to meet!! Actually, very small world, but your brother-in-law was the architect on our new brewery in Spokane so you guys will have to swing by for a beer when you are visiting over the summer! We’re located in the Perry District. (: Thanks for all the fun beauty tips – I am going to grab that NARs lippy asap!

  4. I’m not one of those women who carry lipstick around with me and apply it throughout the day. I do, however, listen totmy fashion blogging friend Annie. She says that every girl needs a red lipstick. I took her advice and have now purchased two very red stay on all day lipsticks. The first one is Revlon’s Colorstay Ultimate Suede in Finale and it stays on pretty well most of the day and I love the color. The second one is also by Revlon. Its from the Colorstay Overtime line and let me tell you when they say overtime they mean it. This lipstick, in Forever Scarlet, will be lighting up your lips even at the end of the day and beyond. I must say that I’ve always used a more subtle lipcolor until now, but I’m embracing my red lips and leading my own fashion revolution. Thanks Anne.

    1. YaY Sheila! This is so exciting!! AND I am definitely going to go check out those two red lippies you’ve mentioned. I have Revlon’s “Love that Red,” but I haven’t heard of the other two–especially the second one that lasts all day. I can’t wait to get my hands on that one! I’m so stoked to hear all that you are trying out. Way to go Sheila! And thanks for the recs! A x

  5. My favourite lippy lately is the Revlon balm stain in an orangey red. I love a stain finish, so natural and it’s moisturizing too. For more drama I always love MAC Red.

    1. Kitty, I love Revlon’s balm stains. I’ve written about them a couple of times here on Kremb de la Kremb. Now Revlon has some new matte balms too–have you tried them? MAC’s red has made a couple of comments already. Ruby Woo for you too? Thanks for commenting Kitty:D A x

  6. Ok, my lipstick story is that I don’t even own any lipstick! Does that even count as a story? Many moons ago, a friend from college brought me to the store and insisted I get an ‘everyday lipstick,’ but I admit that one sat in my makeup bag for years. So, I have no clue about undertones or anything like that, but I feel like I’m ready to jump into the lipstick pool and figure it out! Thanks, Annie, for continued inspiration. 🙂

  7. Lovely blog post! 100% agree that lipstick MAKES the OUTFIT!
I remember when i first saw the oxblood lips trend, i didn’t have enough money to buy a lipstick so I went to a Sasa and bought the cheapest darkest colored lipliner and a transparent lipgloss !
Now I’m always wearing a neon lipstain or canmake’s lip color in coral or maxfactor’s dark lipstick/gloss.

    1. Louie, I’ve done the same! Then, I have a nifty savings trick for my luxury brand lipstick. I save all five dollar coins. When I get to 25 of them that will buy me a NARS lipstick! Try it:D I am wondering what you wear to get your neon lips–that’s what I’m after. Also, I will look at Canmake’s coral color–I love Canmakes glittery eyeshadow creams. Thanks for commenting! A x

      1. have you tryed korean brands? They do really good pink shades and lipstains. (the bottle looks a bit like bennefits or something like that)! And even a maybeline lipstick pops with concealed base 😉

  8. So now I just ordered another red lipstick. Laura Geller’s New York Signature Red. It supposedly goes well will all skin tones. Have you heard of this one? I’m hoping it’s a bit better of a red for me than the other two brighter ones I mentioned in my last comment.
