I hosted my first trunk show this last week for What the Frock?! It was a super fun night with about 30 visitors–which I thought was pretty good for my first event. Most who came walked out with a purchase which was great for Maria.
Here Maria and Maureen are getting to know each other. It was so fun for me to turn around and here the Spanish being spoken. Maria is from Mexico and Maureen is married to a Venezuelan; I thought it was really neat that they found their language so quickly.
When it comes to trying on dresses, knowing your body type and knowing how to work with it are two womanly skills not necessarily learned at school, but these three ladies have it down! Sue, Nancy, and Bridget chose excellent designs for their figures.
While every girl seemed happy with the dresses they tried on there was something magical about Laura. Maybe it’s just her positive energy, but she really seemed to enjoy the night–which made me happy. The LBD she found was absolutely perfect for her. She even stated, “It’s the perfect amount of ‘boob’ dress!” We all need one of those–just enough cleavage! I can’t wait to spot Laura wearing this dress. Look at her shine!
Overall the night just made me smile. I love helping others to feel good about themselves, and I think the ladies felt that with the dresses they walked away with. Also, helping a new friend in Maria was also rewarding. What the Frock?! has a mission of providing great dresses to women in Hong Kong for a reasonable price, and I wanted to help Maria do just that to the great ladies I work with at HKIS!
