Happy Go Lucky

I’m always, usually so happy go lucky. It’s my nature. I’m also an open book which isn’t necessarily a good characteristic. I think writing this blog allows me to create this alter ego persona–the happy go lucky version of me that I always strive to be. But let’s be real, life isn’t always happy go lucky.

It’s seems about once a year I come clean about my hip issues. I almost considered calling this post, “Hippy Go Lucky.” My right hip has caused such turmoil for me and for some reason it never seems to end. I’m always hopeful, yet the pain is always there. No one would ever know the amount of pain that I alway have–I wouldn’t want them to. I’m not writing this as a pity party either. It’s just a fact, a fact of my life. Yet, always, somehow, I don’t even know how, I try to remain positive.

Last Friday I had one more, my third, operation on my hip. (The puffy, swollen face might have been the first giveaway!) The replacement, what I like to call Pinky, is great. My hip flexor however has not been for some time now. On Friday, the doc went in to release my tendons and muscles in there. So, I find myself back at Command Central, aka my bed! My spirits are good–that’s my nature. I remain hopeful and positive. Maybe three is a charm…. And I’ve got good company with Rani.

In the meantime, if I’m not as active here with styled posts there’s a reason: I can’t get in front of the camera. However, I’ll still be trying my best; it’s only my nature to be happy go lucky!

*You can see my hip journey here: this was the first post in 2015. I need to edit it because the sentiments have drastically changed. And here’s a post from my excitement at that surgery; little did I know the journey I was embarking on…. This second post from 2016 declares my confidence in mental health awareness and issues. And here’s the third post 8 weeks post op with my new hip, Pinky.
