Beauty Products Found in Asia

Lately, I’ve been writing posts pining away for a visit to TargĂ© (click here for posts 1, 2, and 3), yet to be honest, I never go for want…Asia has so many amazing beauty products! I’m always trying new ones, and I definitely have many beauty products that have become daily staples. With a little research (I am a librarian after all!), I was able to find these products available internationally as well.

1. Mavala Nail Polish Remover Pads: There’s a beauty store in Hong Kong called Sasa (they ship to the US too!) which I frequent often. It’s kind of like the Starbucks of beauty stores with several found all within one block of the others. One of my first finds at Sasa was these Mavala Nail Polish Remover Pads. They are amazing–so amazing that I haven’t used a bottle of nail polish remover ever again. These are acetone free, and there’s an oil in the product that leaves my nails feeling nourished rather than stripped. One pad works for the nails of each hand, so the little pot of 30 pads lasts along time. By the way, Mavala is a Swiss company, so it’s rather ironic that I found this beauty good in Hong Kong!

2. Cure Natural Acqua Gel: Sasa is also in Kuala Lumpur. During a visit to KL, I stopped in the Sasa, and they were promoting this Japanese product called Cure. It’s super odd: it goes on like water, yet when it’s rubbed on the skin it starts to exfoliate–really well! Be prepared for a ton of skin to be exfoliated when using this product. But oh, after a use, my skin feels so soft and renewed. This beauty product always makes the number one spot in Japanese fashion and lifestyle magazines.

3. Pink Jade Gua Sha Massager: Gua sha is a part of traditional Chinese medicine. Basically a device, often made of jade or cow bone, is used to scrape areas of the skin. This scraping helps to reduce inflammation and is believed to cause tissue damage in order to cause more blood circulation. When gua sha is done on the face, it relieves facial muscle tension in hopes of helping to reduce lines–other wise known as wrinkles. Facial massage is very popular right now, and whether or not it works, I enjoy using my jade piece nightly. It’s relaxing and feels very, very good. These pink jade massage stones can be found in any market in Hong Kong. (If you want one, let me know, and I can send you one in the mail!)

4. Kailijumei Flower Jelly Lipsticks: I love mood lipsticks! Whenever I see one, I try it out. It’s obvious that there’s something extra special to these Kailijumei Jelly Lipsticks–there’s a super cute flower inside plus little flecks of gold. I love the way this mood lipstick feels on the lips; it’s more a a lip balm offering a very moisturizing lippy.

5. Tony Moly Peach Hand Cream: This is another super cute product that offers not only soft hands but a pair of great smelling hands. This will sound weird but even the outside of this product feels like a peach. Tony Moly is a very famous South Korean beauty brand–it should be noted that South Koreans are beauty experts! This peach cream makes an excellent gift. I should know as my peach cream was a gift to me, and I love it!!

I have so many more beauty products from Asia to share… would you like to know more?

For easy reference here they are again–and yes, I make a couple of cents from these links if you click on them, so thank you in advance if you find yourself curious!
