Blue Jean Baby in My Cut Offs–a Fab 40s Post

It’s my turn! And since I knew a couple of things about this July–like no wifi out at the lake alongside total lake style, I went with cut offs. Of course. I’m very typical; cut offs are basically all I wear. I’m also lazy when it comes to my summer vacation! Out here in northern Idaho a Wrangler tee with Wrangler cut offs counts for stylish. I’m a Blue Jean Baby!!

What you see here is my office. Out at our cabin on Spirit Lake, there is no wifi. In order to post blog articles this summer, I’ve needed to head up to Brickel Creek Coffee. I order a double iced latte with vanilla and find my usual seat in the corner by the window. My desk has been that straw bag—it holds my camera for shooting, my iPad for editing, and my laptop for writing. Also stuffed in are an assortment of notepads that I just keep carrying around without putting to use. The colorful carryall/desk matches the interior of my lake cabin, so it fits right in.

Brickel Creek Coffee have been so kind to me. Basically once a week I sit up there for a few hours mooching off their wifi, but they haven’t seemed to mind. It’s the cutest café; I do hope it lasts here in Spirit Lake. I know during my summers, I’ll always continue to give them business.

My favorite photographer hasn’t been shooting for me much lately. I hope she does get back into it because she’s my artsiest photog. I always love seeing what she comes up with; I do never know, but I’m always pleasantly surprised. She’ll be a freshman in high school next year, and I’m happy to say photography will be on her roster.

This is a collaboration post: let’s see how the others styled cut offs.

Monika

I’ve been trying to get Monika to join the Fab 40s for a while now. I love, adore her quirky yet classy style. She’s similar to Jennie in being able to rock hot pink hair. She has a boho, vintage style that always attracts me. I love that her blog is written out of a passion outside of her day job—she has to wear a uniform, so dressing up is her outlet. The last reason I’ve always wanted Monika to join is she’s from one of my favorite cities: Vancouver, BC Canada. I love heading up to Vancouver at least once a year. It’s a very beautiful city that is worth a visit if you are ever in the Pacific Northwest.

Jennie

Can you see the similarity? Jennie mixes between classy and boho so well. Jennie used to be all preppy and classy yet lately, she’s got such a fun edge to her style that makes it everchanging—it can’t necessarily be named, but it’s really good.

Sheela

It’s time to give Sheela a big, no HUGE round of applause. Sheela has lost over 100 pounds in the last year and a half. That take serious dedication. Her persistence and devotion show in her legs. Sheela always used to say how much she loved my legs—now it’s time for her to love her own because they look GOOD! You’re not just a style inspo Sheela!

Suzy

I love Suzy’s longer cut offs. I have a pair of Levi’s that I cut longer that I’ve been working into my lake rotation. Again, the boho vibe is being shared with our lithe yogi Suzy here. I also really, really adore Suzy’s hair. Oh, I’d like to cut my hair again, but I’ve promised Kevin I’d grow my hairs out. Ugh! Can I live through you Suzy!?

Mary

Mary is a Blue Jean Baby here in her all blues. Again, I am loving longer cut off jeans. They’re so cute, and the whole look is very fresh. (Mary, I’m sorry your pic got added late. I closed up a cabin yesterday and I had no wifi out there. Luckily, at my folks it’s strong as ever!)

And Me, Kremb de la Kremb

There is really absolutely no style here—except for maybe lake style. I mean I think it’s cute that I have now collected both a Wrangler tee and sweatshirt to match my fixation with Wrangler cut offs. I do believe Wrangler jeans make the very best pair of cut offs. Sometimes Levi’s are a little tighter around the thigh, but Wranglers are looser which I love. This pair is just about reaching the wear of my other favorite pair—that I left in Hong Kong because I want to preserve their goodness. Luckily, I picked up a darker pair of Wrangler jeans to do something with, but they’re so good. I might wear them as jeans. They even have the “W” on the pocket. Stay tuned for those goodies…

What about you?

Do you wear cut offs?
