Vogue Fashion Night Out

VFNO1
The first thing that grabbed my attention at Vogue FNO were some of the sweet exhibits. The pictures captured here are from Chinese fashion blogger and street style photographer Han Huohuo’s new book Fire Bible.

What a blast! Vogue Fashion Night Out was AMAZING! I found out about it at the last minute, but with some supportive nudging from the super HK fashion blogger, Jasmine Smith, I ventured out on my own. And I’m so glad I did!

I think I started reading Vogue in about 7th grade. Sure I had the typical daydreams of actually working for Vogue and becoming a fashion designer. Somewhere along the way, the practicalities of small town girl sunk in, and I never thought any more about it. But now, as I’m actually getting old, I’m reigniting those old daydreams. Friday night was everything I hoped a Fashion Night Out would be. Of course there were stylish people everywhere: funky, beautiful, normal, or plain out glamorous! After being a fly on the wall, my confidences peeked out, I grabbed my camera, and met some really interesting people. I can’t wait till the next one, and I’m so in love with Hong Kong from making some of my little girl dreams come true!

These were the first two lovelies I ran into: Justin and Kyra.
VFNO7
Imagine my excitement when I heard, “Mrs. Krembs!” in unison from the Cheng twins! They are so cute, and I called them out for being total fashionistas!

Natalie on the far right rocks! Check out her AMAZING photography here: Natalie Chyi.

You can bet I was pretty excited to finally meet Bryant Lee of Fashon Crave and Zoe Suen of Fashiononymous.
VFNO8
This cutie on the left made my day! He, said, “You’re Kremb de la Kremb? I love your blog!” Oh, major heart beats skipped!  His name is Nick Chan, and he’s got a new follower of Cut and Copy. The beautiful girl on the right is none other than Emmy Cheng of Girl Gone Vogue.

At this point of the night, I stopped actually meeting people and just went for it. These guys are rockin’ it, no?
VFNO10
I did not have the guts to enter “The Bumbys'” line. You stand before them, and they give you a rating of your style. I was just happy to have happened upon the night!
VFNO9
Hilariously (and ironically without knowing I had snapped a pic of her earlier) I helped the girl on the left deal with her rating. She got marked down because she was on her phone during her appraisal. Unbeknownst to the judges, she was actually on an emergency phone call. She was ready to apologize to them. Another gal and I reassured her that her 9.5 rating (out of 10) was just fine. Take the Asian Zoey Deschanel look-alike and run!
VFNO6
I was after these two stylish women from the get go. This photo was taken at 8:21–before I just came out and asked for the pic.
VFNO12
An hour later, I simply asked if I could take their picture–especially since they were the two most stylish women I noticed all evening. Imagine my surprise when I found out they were sister. I wasn’t so surprised to find out that they are Italian. (You all know I want to be born again Italian, right?)

  3. This Vogue Night blog post puts the blog reader right in the action. For a shy fashionista, your sharing is a perfect way to enjoy and admire all the beautiful and artistic people in Hong Kong. I love how you captured the energy of the evening with your photos and descriptions. I hope you will share a photo of yourself that night. I am sure you looked fabulously stylish. Thanks for letting me vicariously be part of the HK fashion scene. The Italian sisters and Nick Chan really stood out! And, of course, the Cheng twins had the best smiles ever.

    1. Oh Maureen, I’m glad you get such pleasure from these posts. That makes my day. No outfit post from my own Vogue FNO–I was pretty blah in comparison with a simple black and white ensemble. Although, I didn’t feel sassy sporting black peep toe booties and black leather shorts! Love, Annie
