Style Story Link Up No. 4 + Samantha from Fake Fabulous

Samantha from Fake Fabulous
I thought it would be kind of fun to switch things up here for my Style Story Link Up. Usually I will highlight what I’ve worn for the work week, and while that’s interesting for a bit, I find it gets a little repetitive: runners, skirt, graphic tee, repeat, Monday through Friday. Therefore this week, I’m sharing a blogger that I’ve become friends with over the last month or so. In fact, I’d venture to say we’ve become good friends.

She’s friendly!

Samantha from Fake Fabulous is one of the nicest bloggers I’ve met. There’s something about her that makes me think that in real life–the kind in the same location where coffee dates actually happen, we would be the best of friends. There’s so much about her that I just find so friendly. Take her natural very friendly smile in this post: doesn’t she look like your best friend next door?

She’s bold!

Samantha Fake Fabulous 1Samantha’s style is definitely BOLD with capital letters. It’s funny because I have always thought of myself as a bold dresser, but in knowing Samantha I have realized there are some many different interpretations of bold–bold with mixing, bold with lipstick, bold with different pairings, and bold with color. Sam definitely shows me examples of dressing bold with color, and I appreciate this influence!

She’s a mixer!

Samantha Fake Fabulous 2Not only is Samantha bold with color but she’s an expert at pattern play. The way in which she matched these tartan pants with a flowered blouse is just pure awesomeness. I mean I love it! It’s such a cool outfit. Plus reading her commentary on that blouse and enticing the reader to be YES or NO with the blouse. Well, I just really enjoyed reading the post, and of course I went with YES!

She’s a storyteller!

Samantha Fake Fabulous 5This link up has been named the Style Story Link Up; that’s because I love the story behind much of my clothing. So much of what I wear involves storytelling. I think, aside from how amazing I find Samantha’s style, part of the reason I keep returning to her blog is I love the stories she tells about her clothing. Like wait till you read about the beautiful cashmere coat above–thank goodness she went back!

She’s quirky!

Samantha Fake Fabulous 4These blue tights have haunted me! I love them, and later on in the month you might get a chance on Samantha’s blog to see me attempt wearing something similar. All I can say is wearing blue legs is not easy, but Sam makes it seem like a cinch. I mean it just looks so natural on her. I love that, and it goes to support than when one feels confident in something it totally shows. I don’t even think twice at this outfit because she owns it–you can just see it in her smile!

She’s hot!

Samantha Fake Fabulous 6Let’s admit it: Samantha has a hot figure! Look at how fabulous this dress is! I mean WOWZA. Enough said. Samantha you look amazing!!

Samantha from Fake Fabulous

I hope you’ve enjoyed this format of my Style Story. Again, one of the main reasons behind this link up is the connection. It’s really amazing to be meeting bloggers from around the world–which by the way is happening. My friend Sam lives in Scottland. (I’m sure you’ve been wondering where leaves take on such amazing colors!) I also hope I’ve been able to introduce you to another individual’s style stories. Enjoy Samantha from Fake Fabulous!

  1. Ann…..wow…I am totally blown away by this piece of writing.
I went all shy and embarrassed (a very British thing to do) as I was reading it. Can she really be talking about me?!? None of this is really true, is it?
Isn’t the internet just full of fakes hiding behind computers??
Then I thought about how we do inspire each other, not just you and I, but millions of women all over the world.
Every day this happens but it is just not spoken about (or written, so beautifully).
I love the underlying message of this piece, about connection and connecting with others.
Yes, we may be worlds apart (6000 miles or so) AND you are sleeping when I am awake.
BUT, if we had Vanishing Cabinets (like the ones in Harry Potter…how geeky is that! Haha) we would be drinking Tea and coffee, and gabbing about life, all day long!
Thank you for featuring my blog (and me) on your style story. I can’t wait to see who you feature and what you come up with next week!

      1. Thank you so much! {blushes quite a lot, but delighted at the same time}…. It seems utterly ridiculous that i post pictures of myself on the internet for (potentially) millions of people to see and criticise, yet I fell shy about someone like Ann being so positive and supportive. Bonkers isn’t it?

  2. You are right Samantha’s style is bold and colorful and she totally owns it. And I thought I was pretty bold and colorful lol.

Thanks for the linkup Ann. =)

  3. What an inspired idea to mix up the Style Story. That’s one of the many benefits of blogging – getting to know fabulous women from all around the world – sharing style stories and inspiration, learning about all the different backgrounds and being boosted by the wealth of creativity and communication there is out there. A great antidote to the negatives that sadly go with the internet age. Thanks for hosting.

  4. Ann I love Samantha so much – it’s like she’s been blogging for aaaaages!! In fact I think of you two as two very similar blogging peas in a pod: You both share the same infectious enthusiasm, and I love you both for it. Plus her style (like yours) is wonderfully playful and uninhibited, so much personality comes through!!

Thanks so much for hosting, can’t wait to see you for #iwillwearwhatilike 🙂

    1. Oh! I think this is a big compliment for me. I love some of the words you used up here to associate me with Sam: infectious enthusiasm, wonderfully playful and uninhibited, blogging peas in a pod. Love it! Don’t you Samantha?! A x

PS I think I can speak for both of us that we take such guidance from you dear Catherine!
